Tower speakers using the Radio Shack 40-1354 5 1/4" Full Range
I came up with these plans around June of 2001 after getting a bunch of barn wood and having
it planed to a uniform thickness of .75". I didn't do anything with the plans until after
I finished the modified Hawaii's.
These guys are in progress and should be completed soon.
The construction photos tell the story.
After having so much success with mounting the driver from the rear in my modified Hawaii's,
I decided to change the plans on the towers to match and to give it a good looking port
in the front too. Kind of a matched look to the port opening and the driver opening.
The carcass will be covered with black laminate like the mod-hawaii's and will have at least
one more coat of clear poly on the baffles. They should look very sharp!
