Scaled Death Box II using a Parts Express 290-352 sub
This box is in my truck between the bucket seats.
Yes, I said between them. This box is very small for what it does!
It uses a single DVC 6.5" sub wired in parallel to give a 4 ohm load.
I am using a cheap Radio Shack amp bridged to a 170 watt output but turned only about a third
of the way up. It goes down to about 30Hz (which it's specs say it shouldn't) when using a sweep CD.
I used this CD to come up with the upper XO point of about 90HZ using an active sub crossover.
My midbass/midrange drivers are, believe it or not, 4" PE 269-469's. My tweeters are Dayton surface
mount pods. Using only these five speakers, the soundstage is unbelievable. Everyone who rides
in the truck says "The sound is coming from all around me."
It took only about 3 hours to install everything. But, it took over 2 hours just to aim
the tweeters and adjust the stuffing behind the mids.
