I have always had a fascination with the way things work and what could be improved about them.
As a kid, I was always getting myself into trouble tearing things apart and trying to "fix them".
I finally found my niche' in the audio world when it comes to this personality fault...errrr I mean trait.
I can mess around with other folks' designs from the Internet without tearing apart anything.
(And I usually save a bunch of cash doing so too!)
