As you can tell from the photo, this sub has a carbon fibre cone.
Kinda neat. And very durable.
We put one of these in a sealed enclosure in a buddy's console of his truck.
After pumping over 400 watts to it, It nearly tore our heads of with SPL!
Not going to say anything about musicality though, I built the box for pure volume.
I am going to try this one in a ported box in my bug hooked up to about 150 watts bridged
and crossed over at about 80HZ. Should do the trick for automotive listening.
After crunching the numbers in a spreadsheet I made I came up with the following:
Vb = 42.01 Litres = 2687 Cu. In. (including volume of ports, bracing, and driver)
Dv = 2"
Lv = 8.5" (flared on one end)
Nv = 2
F3 = 35.6 Hz
This should make for a great box for the low stuff in the car.
